How we farm
For us, quality comes before quantity
Cattle breeding is one of the main activities of the AB Laz farm. The animals graze on mountain-type pastures on the plateau in the Ostrôžky area (Krupina Highlands).
Our aim is to raise healthy animals in organic quality, without any growth promoters. We do this even at the cost of higher expenses.
We grow our own feed: on a further approx. 600 ha we produce organic mountain hay and haylage. You can find our organic certificate on the page Farm products.
What we breed
Two breeds, one approach
Beef breeds that cope with life outdoors on mountain pastures.
Scottish Highland cattle
A hardy breed from Scotland with its typical long coat and large horns. It is undemanding, copes well with cold and wind and spends most of the year outdoors. It produces lean, finely marbled meat.
Charolais
A French beef breed with a light, creamy white coat. It is calm, grows quickly and is among the best beef breeds in Europe.
Cattle for breeding
From our registered organic herd we offer young Highland cattle: bulls and heifers. We will gladly tell you about current availability and prices by phone.

Is your farming organic?
Yes, we are a registered organic farm. Our animals are raised to organic standards without growth promoters, and we produce our own feed on about 600 ha.
Where do the cattle graze?
On about 500 ha of upland pastures on the Ostrôžky plateau (Krupina Highlands) above Ábelová. They spend most of the year outdoors.
